Sydney Trip: Day One...
Today Jackson and I started our massive drive from Brisbane to Sydney for a little bit of a holiday.
We dragged ourselves out of bed at the dark hours of 5am and were out of the house by 6am. After a little stop over at Macca's for a naughty breakfast, we were off! We drove for what felt like ages before we stopped at a rest area outside of Byron Bay and switched drivers. Jackson had a quick nap while I drove us into Byron. We only had a quick little drive around and didn't really stop anywhere. It was a bit too busy and we really just wanted to start smashing out some of the kilometres. The next place we stopped was "Little Italy". When we saw the sign we had to pull over as my Mum and Dad had just recdently been on a little road trip and stopped here. We had a look around and took some photos to send to Mum before heading off again. Our last stop before we came into Coff's Harbour was Grafton for a little ice cream break.
As we drove into Coff's Harbour we saw the Big Banana, and some gorgeous beaches. We drove into Sawtell for lunch at Split Espresso. We got the special treatment, asking for and receiving acai bowls after they stopped serving them! Jackson then took me on a little drive and showed me where his family stay when they go down to Sawtell and he took me up to the headland. I was begging him the entire trip to take me to a lookout and he finally did!!
Then after finding and checking into our motel, we went to the Sawtell RSL for dinner. Like the old people we are we were home and in bed by 8pm..just the way I like it! We stayed the night in Coff's Harbour which was about five and a half hours driving for us, from Brisbane
Overall, it was a fabulous day! We just did alot of driving and thankfully Jackson was an absolute trooper and carrier the team on the driving front. It was awesome weather for us as well, we didn't get rained on even though it was a pretty overcast day (the perfect driving weather!).
