DIY Mario Badescu Facial Spray...
Until a few weeks ago I had never tried the Mario Badescu facial spray. It is a calming spray "with aloe, herbs and rosewater". All the girls at work are dying over it at the moment and I have caught the bug (I went to Mecca and bought four bottles. One for my makeup counter, one for my car, one for my bag and one for my Mum.) Although I love it and it is pretty cheap, $17 for 236mL, I thought why not try making my own.
All you need is a spray bottle, aloe vera gel, lavender oil and rose water. I just used one of the old spray bottles from a setting spray. It isn't hard to get the measurements right, I just tested it back and forth the find what I liked. I found that I wanted it to be a little more lavendery, as lavender is something I am super keen on at the moment, it really helps you to calm down and rest your nerves.
I found that using 1 tablespoon of aloe gel, 1 teaspoon of rose water and 2/3 drops of lavender oil made the perfect balance in about 100mL of water. All you have to do is mix everything together, pop it into the bottle and spray it. I use it on my face and it is also great for calming sunburn.
Obviously it isn't identical to the Mario Badescu spray but it does the same job, at calming and refreshing your skin. The Mecca website also suggests spraying the Mario Badescu one in your hair throughout the day but I'd probably avoid that with this homemade one.
